This page is for Athens campus undergraduate students to sign up for Bobcat Student Orientation. Please review the additional information on our website about the program before signing up (First-Year / Transfer / Family and Guest).

Eligibility to Sign Up

When signing up for your session, you will choose an available date and also indicate if any family members or guests intend to participate in BSO with you. Students are required to participate in all sessions that are part of the program in order to register for classes at orientation, so be sure to clear your schedule and plan to fully participate in all elements of the program. You'll need your OHIO email address and password to access the form below. If you haven't already activated your OHIO ID and campus email address, follow the instructions on the .

First-year students are eligible to sign up for their specific orientation session after they have completed and been cleared through the Required Pre-enrollment Discipline and Criminal History Review process. Students must also complete their housing or commuter contract (if eligible). The automated process for housing contracts can take up to 24 hours from the time it is received for a student to be able to sign up for orientation.  Those students submitting commuter contracts may need to wait up to 24 hours after receiving confirmation of commuter status approval to be able to sign up. 

Transfer students are eligible to sign up for their orientation session once they have officially been admitted to 黑料吃瓜 and have been cleared through the Required Pre-enrollment Discipline and Criminal History Review process.

Bobcat Student Orientation Dates

For all transfer students admitted for Fall 2025

Orientation for transfer students entering in Fall 2025 is a one-day program from 8 am- 5pm. Students are expected to be in attendance for the duration of the program. There are in-person transfer programs on May 30th and July 11th. These dates are available for all majors. 

For all first-year students admitted for Fall 2025

Orientation for all first-year students entering in Fall 2025 is a 1.5-day program. Students are expected to be in attendance for the duration of the program. Program availability is based on academic major. Use the searchable table below to find available dates for your specific major. The deadline to sign up for Bobcat Student Orientation is June 30. 

For all international students admitted for Fall 2025

Orientation for international students entering in Fall 2025 will take place on either August 21st (first-year students) or August 22nd (transfer students). Please email orientation@ohio.edu to sign-up for one of these sessions as they cannot be accessed through the sign-up link below.

Virtual Program Request Form

Our virtual BSO programs are reserved for students with extenuating circumstances, including but not limited to:

• Holding a summer-long job that prevents in-person attendance
• Traveling abroad during the scheduled dates
• Living four or more hours from campus, making travel too time-consuming and costly

Students interested in attending a virtual BSO program must complete the .

Please note that submitting this form does not guarantee approval for the virtual program. Our staff will review all requests and notify you via your OHIO email within 7-10 business days. If approved, you will receive further instructions on how to sign up for the virtual program.
