Center for International Studies to host April 22 roundtable discussion about war in Ukraine

The 窪蹋勛圖 community is invited to a panel discussion to explore short-term effects and long-term consequences of the war in Ukraine, the developments that led to this point, and where we go from here. Graduate students with expertise in the region will help spur the discussion moderated by Dr. Catherine Cutcher, assistant director of the Center for International Studies.

The Russian invasion and war in Ukraine raises new questions about the historical relationship between Ukraine and Russia, the sovereignty and independence of the former republics of the Soviet Union, human rights, and global and regional security more widely. Panelists and attendees will explore these and other relevant topics such as energy dependency, food insecurity, the fragility of international political economy, and the threat of nuclear war.

Join the discussion in person from noon-2 p.m. on Friday, April 22, at Patton College of Educations Gladys W. and David H. Patton Hall (formerly McCracken Hall), Room 232. Attendees may also join the discussion virtually .

This event is presented as part of "The World Now" Series in the Center for International Studies. "The World Now series explores current events around the world by way of conversations led by OHIO faculty, students, alumni, community members, and guest speakers. It reflects the Centers ongoing commitment to global engagement and dialogue.
